Hillary Huebler Corbin

Hillary Huebler Corbin graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music with a BA in classical vocal performance. Trained in opera, she has a range of vocal capabilities singing musical theatre, folk, bluegrass, Celtic, and jazz. She has performed with folk/gospel/bluegrass group Muzyka for the past 20 years, and was nominated for Best Jazz singer by Saginaw Area Art Awards  in the Wise Hill Duo. She has been active in the Saginaw arts community, participating in shows with Pit and Balcony Theatre, and has soloed with the Saginaw Choral Society, Saginaw Eddy Band, Bijou Orchestra, and the Saginaw Bay Symphony. Hillary also performed a musical with the Detroit Theatre for Dramatic Arts at the Kennedy Center during Obama’s Inauguration week.  

A multifaceted musician, Hillary has studied piano, organ, choral conducting and composition. Her compositions have won several awards and she arranges music for musicians around the state of Michigan.  One of her greatest musical joys is getting asked to write or arrange music. Her piano skills have led her to be a part of many musical ensembles. She has directed musicals and played with a number of pit orchestras, and groups such as the Saginaw Brass Trio and violinist Taylor Clark. She plays numerous weddings, private parties, senior citizen programs and gigs every year. In addition to singing and the instruments listed previously, she plays harp, fiddle, ukulele, flute, penny whistle, mandolin, and guitar. 

Hillary is currently the Music Minister at First Congregational Church and is an instructor at Major Chords for Minors. She has taught private voice, piano, and composition lessons for over 10 years. She aims to not just bring out the best in her students, but also how to bring out the joy. Besides private lessons she has led group workshops in schools and events like the Evart Folk Music Festival. Following in her grandfather's stead, she has been studying and practicing as an amateur piano tuner.  Feel free to reach out if you have a piano in need of a little love!

Hill is married to her highschool best friend and they have two wonderful chaos goblins... I mean children.
